- This Heart Is Mine
- Kazakafnu
- The Answer
- Reach To Eternity
- The Best is Yet To Come
- X Rated
- Break The Chains
- Ask The Lonely
- Aftershock
We do already have a large number of pre-ordered copies!!
The album will be released by Pure Steel later in the year. In the meantime, we will have pre-release copies of the album at our gigs in November.
– Forthcoming Gigs and Festivals
We have a number of shows coming up in November, we have bookings into 2014 and very pleased to say that we have more coming in all the time.
The set will include a mixture of our hardcore 1980s music with a sprinkling of new songs too.
Please note a few changes:
– November 08 – Salem – Arnhem, Netherlands
Unfortunately, Ear Danger will not be able to play this gig. Our best wishes to the band. A replacement band will be announced shortly.
– November 09 – Salem with Iron Kobra and In Empty Eyes. – Uelsen, Germany
Again, Ear Danger won’t be joining us for this gig. Instead, we’ll be playing with German bands
Iron Kobra and In Empty Eyes. Looking forward to it.
– November 15 – Salem with Soulflame – Fruit, Hull, UK
Official launch of the Fairview compilation album, “A Perfect Combination” (see below)
– November 23 – Old School Heavy Metal Night – The Fleece, Bristol, UK
- Jaguar, Salem and Dream Overkill
We were to have been joined by Dealer too, however you may have seen the very sad and shocking news that Dealer’s bass player, Pete Gentil, died recently in a road accident. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the band.
We are expecting a great night – and there are supporters coming from far and wide including a bus-load of Geordies and friends from Strasbourg!
– January 18 2014 – Salem – Milan, Italy (tbc)
Not confirmed yet, but the promoter has some great bands lined-up – watch this space!
– April 19 2014 – Salem – Very ‘Eavy Festival – Stadskanaal, Netherlands
This promises to be an excellent event with bands like Tygers of Pan Tang, our good friends Avenger and Killer and a bunch of other great bands.
Note: November 10 – Salem – Negasonic, Belgium – has been postponed until next year.
Fairview Studios, Hull
As previously mentioned above, the compilation album, “A Perfect Combination: Fairview Studios 1973-1990” is due for release on 15 November – an album to cover notable local bands who recorded at Fairview between 1973 and 1990.
Again, you may remember that we made our first two recordings at the Fairview Studios in Willerby, Hull – the first demo in 1981 and the Reach To Eternity/Cold As Steel single in ’82.
Many excellent artists recorded at Fairview Studios, not least Hull’s own legendary guitarist Mick Ronson and recently departed Trevor Bolder, and other rock and metal bands such as:
- Uriah Heep
- Def Leppard
- Witchfynde
- Gaskin
- Tokyo Blade
- Geddes Axe
- Saracen
Local music historian, Andy Richardson, has already worked with the owner Keith Herd to release a collection of music recorded by local artists from the 1960s and early ’70s called Frontroom Masters.
We are delighted that Andy approached us to include some our music on this compilation.
You can read more about Fairview on www.fairviewrecording.co.uk – and on Wikipediawhere the Salem single is cited as a “notable recording”!
The release event/party will be at our gig at Fruit, Hull – on November 15, 2013.
Thanks again to you for all your continued support!
Keep rockin! and we’ll see you soon …
Cheers \m/

“Note newcomer meeting: Salem offer what you get rarely heard in today’s world of rock. “Reach for Eternity” has heard the influence of the seventies, which were heavily crowned by bands like Sweet, but even influences of Rainbow and Deep Purple can not really deny. The sound has something refreshing, something that makes the weary bones back on their feet. “Fighting for the Cause” to fully concurs with the style. The guitar riffs, the bass, everything is harmonious. Here we get a new version of a bygone era in a new guise. In our eyes, a (secret) tip for all old rockers and those who want to be there and of course for all fans of neat rock. [Google translation]” Newcomer-Treff [Germany]
