“Forgotten Dreams … like last year’s Tygers of Pan Tang album, the record has an infectious energy that clearly courtesy of some old ads that are simply (and audibly) having a bloody good time playing together again and while at it managed to put some great hard rocking tracks on wax … Very enjoyable gentlemen, hats off to you!” — Daniel Schuldt, Steel For An Age |
“Thank you so so much! The show yesterday was amazing, so great , absolutely fabulous ! It was completly magic ! ! !” — Anik, Facebook |
“Great Concert yesterday in Brussels. I bought the ‘Forgotten Dreams’ LP, can’t stop listen to it ! Wonderful band !” — Michel, Facebook |
“Salem in Dubai …… Amazing energy on stage from Salem UK – a band playing with pure heart, probably after their years of experience. Their vigor and enthusiasm powered the night, with excellent crowd interaction from Simon Saxby. It was truly inspiring to see them perform” — Natsky D., RCOKERAMAGAZINE |
“Fans of authentic, straight-up, Hard Rock played with the passion, commitment and the experience of musicians deep into a 35 year career in the music industry, will find much to love about Salem.” — Christopher Jennings, What Culture: 10 New Wave Of British Heavy Metal Bands That Are Better Than Ever |
“Forgotten Dreams review. SALEM play Heavy Metal with many Hard Rock elements … Their sound is based on the twin guitar riffage, being rich in harmonies with cool guitar hooks. There are also many memorable choruses and AOR sounding vocal harmonies while the greatest achievement is that SALEM have managed to compose and record tracks that do not sound retro or dated at all. It is very hard to believe that this is a band that was formed almost 35 years ago … Strongly recommended 9/10” — Vangelis Kontogeorgakos, Metal Kaoz |
“Forgotten Dreams … an all out classic rock release … superbly crafted guitarmanship … twelve tracks of pure rock bliss … timeless classics!” — Lee Walker, Firebrand Magazine |
“Forgotten Dreams … has it all! The compositions of the British present themselves sophisticated and varied …Powerful guitars, double-barreled leads and groovy bass playing combine to create a meaningful , well-produced sound” — Anthalerero, Stormbringer |
“All in all, these things combine for a rather significant success for a band of fifty-something heavy metal rockers. And these guys can truly deliver the goods whether it’s the heavy metal of Kazakafnu or Aftershock, the melodic hard rock of The Answer, or the anthems of This Heart Is Mine or The Best Is Yet to Come. Hopefully, that title of that last song is prophetic for the future of Salem. Forgotten Dreams is quite recommended.” — Craig Hartranft, Dangerdog |
“Comprising the ’82 lineup, Simon Saxby is back on vocals and is nothing short of amazing, his voice never aged and still able to hit all those high notes cleanly and with power harmonies. The band’s overall sound hasn’t changed either – authentic melodic and hard rock from the late 70s / early 80s but of course now with a modern first class production sound” — Shan Siva, Battle Helm |
